The eastern region of the United States is currently experiencing intense storms, resulting in significant impacts. The National Weather Service (SMN) has issued tornado warnings in several areas, with the situation in the DC metropolitan area being especially critical. These warnings have spread across ten states, and more than 2.5 million people are under watch due to the potential threat of tornadoes. SMN meteorologist Chris Strong has urged people to seek safe shelter and take precautions while weather conditions persist.

The storms have not only affected transportation and safety, but have also left more than a million homes and businesses without power. States such as Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia have faced power cuts that have generated an emergency situation for the authorities and the population in general.
