A Call to Hope in front of the Mexican Embassy

In a moving gesture, the family of María Fernanda Sánchez Castañeda, a Mexican student who has disappeared in Berlin, Germany, has decided to call for a show of solidarity in front of the Mexican Embassy in that country, as a sign of hope to find their beloved daughter.

A statement full of gratitude and hope

In a statement issued from the city of Berlin, the Sánchez Castañeda family expressed their desire to have the support of the community in Berlin in this show of solidarity. The event will take place next Saturday, August 5 at 12:00 hours.

“We ask all attendees to wear white and carry candles as a symbol of hope in the search for our daughter, wishing her prompt and healthy appearance. We want to emphasize that this action has no political or partisan purpose,” the message issued by the family said.

Joining forces in search

Family also invites participants to join search brigades, organized after the event, in addition to the Embassy show of solidarity.

“We want to deeply thank the volunteers, brigadistas and organized civil society for their invaluable support and solidarity in the active search for our daughter.

“We also extend our gratitude to the institutions that have given us their support and cooperation,” the statement said. “These institutions include the Embassy of Mexico in Germany, the Consular Section, and our daughter’s University.”

Recognition of diligence and support received

The family expressed their gratitude to the German police authorities for their support and the diligent effort they are making to solve Maria Fernanda’s case. In addition, they highlighted the support and solidarity they have received both nationally and internationally, which has given them strength to continue in the search for their daughter.

María Fernanda disappeared on July 22 in the city of Berlin, where she had decided to move to continue her studies. Her parents, residents in Querétaro, have traveled to Germany to work closely with the authorities and contribute to the search for the young woman.
