Following AC Milan’s 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his retirement. The club had previously announced that a brief ceremony would be held to bid farewell to the Swedish footballer.
At San Siro, in front of the Rossoneri fans, an emotional Ibrahimovic said: “I feel like I can’t breathe, but it’s OK. This stadium holds so many memories and emotions. The first time I arrived here, they brought me happiness; The second time, love. I want to thank my family and loved ones for their patience.”

In his professional career, the 41-year-old has played for Malmö FF, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, LA Galaxy and Manchester United. Ibrahimovic retires being the top scorer in Swedish football history, with 62 goals in 121 international matches.
