“Asiana Airlines In-Flight Incident: Passenger Opens Emergency Door in Mid-Flight”

An individual causes an incident on an Asiana Airlines flight by opening an emergency door during landing. The plane, with about 200 passengers on board, managed to land safely, but several passengers were injured and hospitalized.

The incident reportedly occurred on an Asiana Airlines domestic flight bound for Daegu International Airport, located about 240 km southeast of Seoul. When the aircraft was about 200 meters high, a passenger in his 30s, sitting near the emergency exit, manually opened the door using the corresponding lever, according to an airline representative.

A 44-year-old witness on board the plane described the situation as chaotic, with people fainting and flight attendants requesting medical assistance via internal radio. A brief video of the incident was released showing the wind entering the cabin through the open door, violently waving the hair of passengers and generating cries of alarm.

Another video shared on social media showed passengers in emergency seats next to the open door, facing intense wind gusts. Due to the unexpected opening of the door, some passengers experienced breathing difficulties, resulting in the transfer to the hospital of approximately nine people after landing. However, no serious injuries were reported. Asiana Airlines reported that the passenger involved apparently tried to jump from the plane and, once on the ground, was handed over to the police authorities for questioning and clarifying his motives.
