At a recent meeting of the National Security Commission, Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged urgent measures to modernize the country’s national security system and capability, in view of the current challenges and complex situations.
According to reports by the state-run China Daily newspaper, Xi stressed that the national security issues facing China have increased significantly in their complexity and severity.
In this regard, Xi warned of the need to prepare for extreme and worst-case scenarios, be aware of potential risks and be prepared to face major challenges. He stressed the importance of modernizing the national security system and capability, as well as being prepared to face practical problems and real combat situations.
During the meeting, the importance of improving the management of online data security and artificial intelligence was also emphasized. As a result of this meeting, chaired by Xi, guidelines have been adopted to accelerate the construction of a national security risk monitoring and early warning system, as well as guidelines to strengthen public education on national security in a comprehensive manner.
